American Rebellion Song of the Revolutionary War

The following which I have written is a fictional three-stanza song which represents the Rebels in the Revolutionary War, likely to have been written around the late 1770s. This song would possibly have been used to encourage American patriots to rise and fight for the independence cause. Like similar rebellion songs of the era, it is written in poetic form and would be put to music for ease of memorization:

O patriot, hear ye! this song I now sing
we, to our own Mother, this battle now bring
now, as one we vanquish this great tyranny!
blood shed for our dream, a land of liberty!

O Mother, hear ye! for cent’ries prevailing
great distress upon us, brought ye and thy king!
no more shall we live, by thine authority
but as a free land, under God’s sovereignty!

O patriots, rise! thy nation is fighting!
our Mother hath wronged us, now we a-righting!
hearken ye this day! yea come, pour out thy tea!
sacrifice we must, let’s battle and be free!🔹
